middle earth

Somewhere nestled between the Shire and the Lorien elf forest, are the endless flowing green pastures of Normandie. While aimlessly driving through some of the smaller, older villages in search of France’s oldest tree, I was particularly struck by the homes enclosed in a ring of trees. As it rains pretty much all the time in this NW region of France, the trees form a formidable barrier against the elements (or bands of angry orcs…)
I found them absolutely enchanting and if it weren’t for the constant rain in Normandie, I would seriously consider living here at some point. If for know other reason to satisfy a childhood dream of living in the world’s greatest fort.

the view from the car...

and what you really come to Normandie to see. the sea.

and as with the rest of France, fall in love while waiting for your moules-frites...
