Winter on L'Île de Ré
Jutting out from the western coast of France is la the petite island of Ré- or simply put ‘heaven on earth’. With it's uniformed white-washed facade, bluish-green shuttered buildings, this ridiculously quaint sea-salt producing, oyster mongering island is never more pleasant or peaceful than in the winter months. When the absence of the throngs of tourists that populate this island during the summer gives way to a truly authentic “French” fishing village experience.
After 11 years working on the east coast, preceded by 5 years schooling on the west coast, this born and bred mid-westerner followed her heart to Paris to start a new life in the city of lights, love and cheese. Chronicled on these pages are visual observations from this incredibly elegant and at times overwhelmingly complex city, highlights from travel adventures and some “professional” work sprinkled throughout.
